Your first household inventory
Start with a few important items, organise the paperwork and install KeepMyHouseOrganised on your phone.
Begin with the items you would miss
Start with major appliances and essential equipment rather than trying to catalogue every possession. Add the item name, room, manufacturer and model. Serial numbers can distinguish similar products when contacting support.
Keep the evidence with the item
Add a readable receipt and warranty paperwork, or a manufacturer manual link. An item record helps you organise information; it is not an insurance valuation or proof that an insurer will accept a claim.
Use your phone and computer
The cloud version uses a signed-in account so devices can access the same home. The clearly labelled example home runs only in the current tab. Do not rely on that example to keep real records.
Install the app
On a supported Android or desktop browser, use the browser’s Install option. In Safari on iPhone or iPad, open Share and choose Add to Home Screen. Installation gives the app its own window; it does not remove the need to sign in or connect to the internet for cloud records.
Keep a backup
In Your home, download the full ZIP backup. It includes your records and uploaded files. Keep it private. Restoring a backup replaces your existing home, so download a current copy first. Offline edits and automatic calendar subscriptions are not part of this first version.
